This page details the transformation of my 1981 full-size Ford Bronco from a stock 4x4 into something that will be a very capable trail rig while retaining reasonable on-road manners.
In 2003 I simply cleaned it up.....new interior, including new floor pans. New tailgate, and I dismantled the engine and replaced all the seals and gaskets. I also replaced the transfer case with a rebuilt unit. In 2004 I decided to get serious by installing 1-ton axles that I got from a 1986 F350 that I parted-out in January [2004].
