Some 4-wheel Testing
July 17th, 2004
I decided to take the Bronco for a drive to test its capabilities in a controlled setting near home. The location is by the Bow river near Carseland Alberta. The Bronco performed well, and it appears that my axle swap and new tires are a success. That's my brother-in-law [Tim] riding shotgun.

I took my wife and kids for some 4-wheeling in the Waiparous forestry reserve west of Calgary. The Bronco performed better than I expected. The only glitch was my electric radiator fan [which has since been removed and replaced with the belt driven fan]....it decided to stop working and I overheated. We took it all in stride though and waited for things to cool down; the kids were able to entertain themselves. We started a small fire and roasted some wienies.
Driving off the trail was uneventful, the forward movement made enough airflow to keep things cool even with a dead fan. After we got off the trail, we stopped by a swimming hole on the Ghost River near Waiparous Village. The big splash is me cannon-balling the kids. The lovely lady in red in the last picture is my ever-so-patient wife Cindy; my mother-in-law Anna is standing behind her..
McLean Creek [West of Calgary]

I decided to take the day off and go into the Forestry west of Bragg Creek with Mike and Jim. Mike had recently purchased a new dirt bike. It seems like a very good bike, it's a 4-stroke and Jim's bike is a smaller 2-stroke variety, but it works very well.
Here I am in one of many mud holes...no problems:
Another larger mud hole; my brother is driving this time....and he [unwittingly] had it in 2WD and didn't get stuck!
A few dirt bike shots:
Back at the parking lot after a successful day...didn't get stuck once and it sure was muddy and wet:
